School-community projects meeting social challenges: Take the first step to make a difference and participate in the aces – act local project contest 2017!

aces – Academy of Central European Schools – act local

aces – act local is the new support programme for school-community projects tackling a relevant social challenge in their surroundings. The call offers concrete opportunities for taking action for students and teachers in Central and South Eastern Europe, creating new cross-sectoral partnerships with the community and empowering the actors in order to support sustainable social development. Schools are kindly invited to participate in the project contest together with (a) non-school partner/s from their local community!

 

Theme of the aces – act local call 2017

The official launch of the aces – act local call including the release of the theme will happen

on 10 January 2017. Visit www.act-local.aces.or.at and stay up-to-date!

 

Target group: All types of public schools in the 15 eligible aces partner countries with pupils aged 13-17 years can participate. (Private schools and private schools under public law are excluded!).

The working language in aces is English, but the use of other languages in the local projects is possible.

Submission deadline: 28 February 2017, 23:59 CET

The awarded local initiatives are supported in the realisation of their school-community projects by means of seed funding, various helpdesk services and an international training event, the aces Academy.

Partner countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia

aces – act local is an initiative of ERSTE Foundation and coordinated by Interkulturelles Zentrum (Austria) in cooperation with Nadácia Slovenskej sporiteľne (Slovakia) and supported by the Ministries of Education from all participating countries.

aces – act local is aiming at the enhancement of young people’s active involvement in their local communities and fostering their civic engagement.
