Project Danube Learning Journey 2013

17. September 2012in News 0 Likes

ThinkCamp was looking for partners (people, NGOs, institutions, organizations) for the project “Danube Learning Journey” who take responsibility or support the planning, preparing and organizing of the core events and side programs in one of the Danube Regions in 2013. The main tasks of the partners were:

  • Identify and secure regional partners and locations for the events
  • Identify and motivate initiatives, projects and inspiring individuals to participate
  • Plan and organize regional activities: excursions, cultural attractions, open space, marketing, communication, accommodation, food and other needs of participants.
  • Be part of the initiative by supporting where help is needed (office, event management, information, funding, motivating, inspiring, creating)

ThinkCamp was planning a project meeting in Budapest, Hungary on October 12th to 14th 2012 and conducted bi-weekly internet conferences to assure communication between the partners.

Objective and Plan

The Danube Change (Donauwandel) initiative was planning to conduct the Danube Learning Journey between March and September 2013. The themes of the project were sustainable development, Eco-Social Innovation and Eco-Social Entrepreneurship. The objectives were to build a bottom up network of people and organizations who like to support personal development of the people and sustainable development of the Danube Region and the EUSDR (European Union Strategy for Danube Region) by connecting people, promoting non-formal learning, developing skills and knowledge and creating and implementing innovative approaches for the sustainable development of the region. An important objective was also to plan concepts and activities for the period 2014 – 2020.

The Danube Learning Journey intended to conduct 2 day long core events with accompanying site visits and workshops in each of the Danube River Basin countries. Initiatives and projects can be presented. Networking, inspiration, learning and supporting each other should take place and as a result co-development between the initiatives should start. The concept paper, people and organizations involved and a preliminary time schedule can be found at the following internet link: www.thinkcamp.eu/wiki/display/DW/Donauwandel+Home
