The Steering Group of Priority Area 9 has decided on 24 September 2015 to grant a letter of recommendation for the following two planned projects:
Grosstour – Sustainable Green Cross-border Tourism put into practice
The aim of the project is to offer a model for sustainable use of natural resources and cultural heritage sites in the cross-border area by implementing a set of pilot actions for development and promotion of responsible tourism products and services, drafting strategic guidance on the heritage use for economic benefits for the local communities and raising awareness of environmental issues. By investing in people’s training and development of their entrepreneurial skills on how to use the cultural and natural heritage sites to offer high quality experience to tourists, the project will tackle the economic difficulties of the mostly rural population of the area by providing benefits for the local communities.
Development of an Innovative Tourism Product in the Cross-border Area – The Creative Tourism experience
The project aims i.a. at enhancing a new innovative tourism product (i.e. enabling the construction and equipping of a Creative Centre) which is based on the regional green potential and intangible asstes. The project is linked to Work Area 3 “Creativity and Entrepreneurship” as it provides i.a. training in creative thinking and methods.
